This substantial renovation occurred wholly within the form of the original house thus avoiding the need for a Development Application.

The first step on this project was to maximise the volume defined by the existing lean-to – a hollowing out process if you will. The existing floor level was lowered internally and finished in honed concrete bring a clean ambiance of tranquility to the space.

The new kitchen flanks the party wall. It is designed to read as a refined joinery element that is as much kitchen as it is wall unit.

Simplicity in both materials and spatial configuration maximise this space for family life.
